Ginger tea with lemon and honey

Ginger tea with lemon is a very warming drink. And if you also cook it with honey, then it will be an excellent remedy for an incipient cold. Ginger tea also activates digestion, so it is recommended to drink it after each meal for those who want to lose weight. This drink significantly reduces the feeling of hunger, but it is still dangerous to abuse it on an empty stomach because of the active properties of ginger root.

Making ginger tea is very simple, and as in many recipes, there are many variations on how to do it. We suggest brewing it with spices, then it will become even more fragrant and useful. Use fresh ginger root, so the tea will turn out much tastier.

Ingredients

Fresh ginger root – 1 pc. (1 cup grated on a grater)

Lemon – 2 pcs.

    Water – 2.5 liters

Honey – 3 tablespoons (or replace with sugar)

Pour 2.5 liters of water into a saucepan and put it on the fire to heat up.

Meanwhile, peel the ginger root and rub it on a coarse grater.

    Grated ginger root

We will need about a glass of grated ginger.

Ginger does not rub well because of its fibrous structure. Therefore, if you are having difficulties, try to change the direction in which you rub the root and choose the optimal one.

Add ginger to the water that has not yet boiled.

    Water with ginger for tea

Cut one lemon together with the peel into small pieces. Add it to the ginger.

    Lemon for ginger tea

Add spices to taste – all listed in the recipe, or some of them. Turmeric will give the tea a pleasant yellow color.

    Cinnamon for ginger tea

Bring the tea to a boil and turn it off immediately. Let it stand for 10-15 minutes to infuse.

    Ginger tea is infused

Serve tea with honey and lemon cut into slices (this is the second lemon from the recipe), having previously filtered through a strainer.

Honey is not recommended to be added to the hot, so that it does not lose its useful properties. Therefore, honey should be put immediately before drinking tea. If you want to make this drink on the road, then replace honey with sugar to taste.

We also suggest not putting the lemon all at once, but only putting one lemon when brewing. The second one, in order to preserve more useful substances, we suggest adding it to the cup before drinking ginger tea.

If the tea seemed too spicy or saturated to you, just dilute it to taste with hot water.
