How it all started for Lacrem
The name Lacrem was inspired by the two co-founders’ last names, LACombe and REMillard. The coincidental sonority of the name is reminescent of Lacrem frozen desserts’ rich texture. How we came to be. Lacrem is the answer to the need for locally produced vegan « ice cream » made with high quality ingredients and offered in a unique and delicious variety of flavors, unavailable at the retail level until now. The project came to life with one of the co-founders’ desire to find a proper substitute for her favorite dessert after changing her eating habits. No stranger to churning her own ice cream at home, she took on the challenge of creating a product as rich and smooth as the dairy-based classic. With some research and many test batches, she succeeded in recreating the creamy and delicious dairy ice cream but eliminated all animal by-product from the traditionnal recipe. She and her husband Éric Rémillard, saw the high demand for this product as a great opportunity to step in and fill the need in the Quebec and Canada vegan frozen dessert offer. Lacrem was born !
Lacrem offers a plant based creamy and smooth frozen dessert that contains no dairy, no milk protein, no eggs, no préservatives or artificial flavors. We use local and organic ingredients whenever possible. Quality and taste are our main priorities !
We offer a wide range of flavors, from our regular selection to seasonal, limited-edition as well as custom flavors. All of our flavors are soy-based. We use Natura brand soy beverage exclusively as they offer a non-GMO, organic product made in Quebec. Customers can find Lacrem products on the shelves of over 250 retailers and in many restaurants.
